A YOUNG Lurgan girl could soon become the Junior Face of Northern Ireland.

Jodi Currie (7) has been selected as a finalist for the beauty contest after her mum Kellie entered her application online.

Kellie said: “I saw the contest advertised online, so I went onto the webpage and uploaded a photo of Jodi.

“I thought nothing more of it until I was contacted and told she was through.”

The Junior Face of Northern Ireland is for girls aged between six and 11.

The final of the beauty pageant will take place this summer on August 21, in the Canal Court, Newry.

If Jodi wins the contest she will be crowned as Junior Face of Northern Ireland 2012.

The winner will also be selected to represent Northern Ireland in the Junior Face of Europe pageant which is to be held in Disneyland, Paris.

They will also receive accommodation at a Disney Hotel and a two day ticket for both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.

Although Jodi’s mum hopes she wins the contest she said that it is more about Jodi having fun and making the best of the experience.
