The annual Junior Stars In Your Eyes competition grand final will take place at Portadown Town Hall Theatre on Friday, May 15.

Three weekends of auditions will take place this month.

The auditions will take place over three Saturdays in March at Moyraverty Centre beside St Brendan’s Primary School starting this Saturday, March 14, at 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

You can also audition on Saturday, March 21, and Saturday, March 28, also at Moyraverty Centre from 1.30pm to 1.30pm. The competition is open to anyone aged 10 to 14 years old and all acts must audition to qualify to perform in the grand final.

This year’s competition is open to Solo Singers, Duets, Groups and you must copy a famous popstar/group or you can copy a famous principal character from any musical. The winner will receive £100 and there is also prizes for the top five acts.

Show producer Kieran Corr said: “We had a great final last year in which Dairine McCaughley from Derrymacash won performing as ‘Christine Daae’ from the musical ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.

“This competition is a great opportunity for young people to perform on the stage and pretend to be one of their pop or musical hero.

“It always proves to be a fun night. I wish all acts the best of luck at the audition process and the competition is open to anyone who is between 10 and 14 years old at the date of the auditions.”
