The Dromore Diosesan Society is to host a lecture on the Columban Missionaries from the diocese.

The lecture, by Fr Neill Collins of Dalgan Park and the Far East is to take place on Monday 14th September at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Parish Hall, Lurgan.

This illustrious roll-call will consider the lives and missionary work of twenty Dromore Diocesan missionaries and four from beyond the diocese who attended St Colman’s College, Newry. These missionaries derived from town and country across the diocese; five from Warrenpoint, four from Newry, four from Lurgan, three from Banbridge, two from Hilltown, two from Derrytrasna, and six from other areas, well remembered with great fondness and admiration.

Voluntary donations made upon entry to the event will be presented to Fr Collins for the Columban Missionary Society. The Society’s Annual General Meeting will precede Fr Collins’ lecture. The A.G.M. begins at 6.45.
