Warning on 'rogue tenants'

I became a landlord for the first time in February this year. I let out what had been a family home of 37 years to my first tenant.
The tenant has become the tenant from hell. Within the first three they months defaulted three times in paying rent.
They remain in my home but have failed to pay rent from mid May. The tenant had been served a proper notice to quit but refuses to vacate the property. As well as failing to pay rent the tenant has failed to maintain the property, I, on one visit recently, was told by this tenant that I was trespassing when I went to serve a further letter to quit.
All landlords and estate agents need to be protected against these rogue tenants who repeatedly offend.
I found out too late that this tenant had left a previous tenancy owing outstanding amounts of rent and doing a moonlight escape.
Landlords are not being protected by the law against such repeat offenders, I believe there needs to be a register of these rogue tenants compiled and circulated among private landlords and other interested parties to try and combat large losses of income.
Tenants like that give decent tenants a bad name, I am going to compile a register of such offenders.
