Lurgans new state-of-the-art YMCA building was officially opened today by Education Minister John O'Dowd MLA and International Fund for Ireland Chairman Dr Adrian Johnston. The �1.7 million facility, which received half (�856,000) of its funding from the International Fund for Irelands Leaving a Legacy programme, brings the work of Lurgan YMCA from two separate sites at each side of the interface area to one. The new premises will enable Lurgan YMCA to significantly increase its work with young people in the town and promote understanding between communities. A full programme of events for young and old is available including canoeing, wall climbing, cooking master-classes, knitting, crocheting and new evening entertainment to name a few.
