A decision to drive home after he had been drinking led to a 48 year old man receiving a 12 month driving ban last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Piotr Gargol, Enniskeen, Craigavon, was also fined £150 for driving with excess alcohol in blood on November 3.

The court heard he was stopped in Edward Street and failed a preliminary breath test. A blood sample gave a reading of 134.

A solicitor for the defendant said he had been at a private function organised by friends. The defendant had taken two beers and two vodkas which had been large measures. He could not get a taxi and as it was a stormy night went to sit in his car. He decided to drive home.
