Do you have a ‘shining star’ in your midst who runs messages for older people in your neighbourhood or is the first to volunteer for local events or community initiatives? Is there someone that has gone that extra mile to help you out?

firmus energy is once again supporting the annual ‘Person to Be Proud Of’ competition, allowing all the exceptional people in communities across Northern Ireland to be recognised. Nominate a ‘shining star’ today in our ‘Person to Be Proud Of’ competition, running through Johnston Press newspapers across the province, including the Lurgan Mail.

Angeline Sloan, of firmus energy, commented: “We are out and about in communities across Northern Ireland each and every day and regularly meet and hear about people who go above and beyond to help others. These are the ‘shining stars’ we want to highlight through this competition.

“We have more than 66,000 customers across Northern Ireland and know that so many of them give up their time and energy to benefit others and that is why supporting a competition such as this is important to firmus energy.

“As a company we have a strong focus on giving back to our local communities. We have supported charities, worked with organisations such as Business in the Community and lent time and resources to projects, such as landscaping Special Schools, including Riverside in Antrim and Ceara in Lurgan. We wholeheartedly appreciate that so much good work is being done within communities on an individual level and it is those people whom we hope will be nominated for the ‘Person To Be Proud Of’ competition.”

Clint Aiken, editor of the Lurgan Mail, commented: “We are delighted firmus energy is supporting our drive to recognise the unsung heroes within our community.”

Further details about the competition can be found in the ad below or online at www.lurganmail.co.uk.
