A woman who thought she was fit to drive was over the limit when she was breath tested, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.
Diane Martin (44), Gilford Road, Lurgan, was fined £120 and banned for 12 months for driving with excess alcohol on February 21 this year. On completion of a course for drink driving the ban would be reduced by three months.
The defendant failed a roadside test and at the police station an evidential sample gave a reading of 49 - the limit is 35.
A barrister for the defendant said that she had been at a funeral and at a function in the evening had consumed three or four drinks. She thought she was fit to drive home which was a big mistake.
