Aim for 'hairizon'

A RANGE of supporters joined local hairdresser, Anne Moore on Sunday to raise much needed funds for the newly developed 'New Hairizon project', supporting cancer patients with quality styling and superior wigs.

The Christmas Fayre was attended by many supporters with all donations going towards the development of the project and programme.

On the day Anne Moore’s hairdressing salon and Radiance beauty salon presented a makeover on Mary McMahon. Mary is in the process of undergoing chemotherapy and felt the opportunity to have a makeover and wig styling to be very uplifting.

Said Mary: "The makeover gave me a boost and it is good that this service is available. I am sure it will be invaluable, the styling has given me so much more confidence and has been a real pick me up."

Anne Moore would like to thank all of the individuals, family friends, clients and businesses who made donations, helped to plan the day and provided their services in helping support this project.

The businesses involved included Thomas Moore Interior, Blackthorns Gift Shop, Juells, Bag Plus, Brainbox, The Ashburn, Goodyear social club, Radiance beauty specialists, Hair by Stephen International, Hair Designers Beauty Consultants, Hair Graphics and Shane Bennett.

Marie McStay, Breast Care specialist, Craigavon Area Hospital said: "Cancer patients have a lot to deal with when undergoing treatment, from emotional and physical stress and symptoms. A project such as the New Hairizon project will go a long way in lifting the spirits and confidence of patients going though this terrible illness."
