Burglary spree

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a number of burglaries in the Dromore and Lurgan areas on the morning of Thursday, January 26 - and a possible link is being investigated.

Police received two reports of burglaries at houses in the Moss Road area and the Waringsford area of Dromore.

A further two houses in the Avenue Road and the Pines Park areas of Lurgan were also broken into.

Police are also investigating a burglary from a house on the Belfast Road in Dollingstown. All these incidents are believed to have taken place on Thursday morning.

Detectives in E District are investigating a possible link between these five burglaries and believe that two men driving a dark grey car may have been involved in each incident.

Police would ask anyone who may have been in any of these areas on Thursday morning and noticed this vehicle or any suspicious activity to contact them at Mahon Road CID on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them on 0800 555 111.

It’s understood two men were arrested on Thursday afternoon in Newry on suspicion of burglary and going equipped for theft in relation to burglaries in the Kilkeel and Tandragee areas on Thursday afternoon. Police are actively investigating links between these burglaries and the five which occurred in Dromore and Lurgan on Thursday morning, January 26.
