Craigavon man told to bring feud to an end
A CRAIGAVON man was told to bring a feud to an end before he ended up in custody when he appeared at the local court.
He was 27 year old Sean O’Hagan, of Garrymore, Craigavon, and he was put on probation for nine months for assault on July 11 last year.
A condition of probation is that he attend the anger management programme and he was also ordered to pay 100 compensation to the injured party.
The court heard that on July 12 the injured party reported to police that he had been assaulted by the defendant the night before. He received bruising to his eye.
O’Hagan was seen on CCTV kicking and punching the victim. The defendant alleged that the incident arose because of verbal abuse he received from the injured party.
Mr Felim Rafferty, representing the defendant, said it was an ongoing feud situation.
District Judge, Mr Alan White, told O’Hagan it was time to bring this to an end before he ended up in custody.
Imposing the period of probation he pointed out that a pre-sentence report said the defendant was at a low risk of re-offending.
