TWO men accused of a double murder in Craigavon have had the charges against them dropped.

James Carlisle (31) and Malcolm McKeown (47) were charged with the murders of husband and wife Jacqueline and Hugh McGeough who were killed in their Legahory Court home in 2011.

Jacqueline, 44, was shot three times and her 56-year-old husband once. It was alleged they were involved in the drugs trade in the area.

Carlisle whose address was given as Maghaberry and McKeown of no fixed abode appeared via video link this morning (Friday) at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Both had two murder charges and charges of possessing a weapon and ammunition with intent dropped.

District Judge Alan White said: “It might not be the end of the matter. The prosecution want time to look at the papers and have the right to come back again.”
