Gala night for young film'stars'

A GROUP of north Lurgan teenagers took to the big city for a gala film premiere of their film 'Wasted'.

The film was the result of four months work and was shown on the silver screen at Belfast's Odeon Cinema.

The film was put together by the North Lurgan Young Leaders Project.

'Wasted' details the stresses of life for young people living in north Lurgan from the point of view of a local teenager.

The young people selected to take part in the project were chosen for their potential as future leaders and the evening gave them a chance to show-off their talents.

The group, dressed in their movie star best, turned heads as they graced the red carpet - adding to the sense of occasion and achievement for the group.

The 20 minute film was introduced by producers Cinemagic and Cooperation Ireland and was welcomed with rapturous applause and some tears of joy.

Given that none of these young people had acted previously this could be the start of something really aspiring and life altering for them to aim for in the future.
