New kitchens for Lurgan homes

SOMETHING'S cooking for Housing Executive tenants in Lurgan.

Sixty four tenants in Lurgan town centre have recently had new kitchens fitted as part of an improvement scheme costing over 280,000.

The homes located in Beech Court, Edward Street, Francis Street, James Street, Maple Court, Grattan Street, Mary Street and New Street are a mixture of houses, flats and bungalows.

Work included full kitchen replacement involving minor structural work to improve kitchen layouts as well as upgrading electrical wiring in the kitchen and fitting smoke alarms and heat detectors.

Housing Executive District Manager, Paul Hughes, commenting on the completion of the scheme, said:

“I am delighted the scheme is complete and local residents can enjoy their new kitchens. We involved residents from the outset discussing the proposals with them and giving everyone involved an opportunity to choose from a selection of kitchen finishes and colours.”

“Schemes of this nature are an important element of the Housing Executive’s objective to improve living conditions for its tenants and I am confident that this work will make a difference for these local residents.”
