Oil and oil drums stolen in Drumbeg

THE recent cold snap has seen a spike in the number of thefts of oil from tanks in the Craigavon area.

Also in the Drumbeg area, there has been a large number of thefts of oil drums.

Tommy Sheridan, Chairman of the Drumbeg Residents Committee said a lot of people who had been using oil drums to top up their oil have had them stolen.

He revealed that just last year oil was stolen from the tank at the Community House in Drumbeg.

He said thefts of oil and oil drums had recently shot up during the cold spell.

He urged people to keep their back gardens locked. “It’s hard enough for people these days forking out for oil to have it stolen,” he said.
