AN Armagh man has presented a cheque for over £16,000 to the Neonatal Unit of Craigavon Area Hospital as a thank-you for the care his son received there.

Paul Clarke, who works for McGeown Haulage of Armagh, raised the money through a cabaret and dance held in Canal Court Hotel, Newry, in November.

Recently, Paul visited the unit along with his wife Dea and sons Ashton and Shea, to present a cheque for £16,034.

This will go towards the purchase of new neonatal incubators for the unit and is the family’s way of saying thanks to staff for their treatment and care of Shea during his stay in December 2007.

The fundraising night was hosted and compered by truck-driving country music man Sean Wallace and there was music from ‘Limelight’, John Feehan and Michael McGrady plus a special guest appearance by the Tri-Axle

Group/ Do-Rightlys who reformed especially for the night.
