FOLLOWING the recent success of Down’s But Not Out, the cast have made a £1,000 donation to the Craigavon-based Ripples Special Olympics Swimming Club.

Raymond Murray’s play was shown to appreciative capacity audiences for three nights in Lurgan Town Hall at the start of December. Sales of programmes were donated in full to the charity and other contributions from sponsors helped to bring the total up to the £1,000 mark.

Raymond commented: “It’s a real pleasure to combine your pastime with charity. The fun we had rehearsing and playing has been enhanced by the generosity of our supporters and sponsors.”

Such was the success of the play that it now moves to the Belfast Waterfront on Thursday, May 24, and the Market Place Theatre in Armagh the following night. Details of the Waterfront booking facility are not yet available. However, advance sales for the Armagh venue have been very brisk. Tickets (£10 and £8) can be booked at marketplacearmagh.com or through the Box Office at 3752 1821.
