Police attacked in Drumbeg

POLICE came under attack in Drumbeg while trying to make an arrest.

Neighbourhood Officers in Brownlow were conducting the search on Wednesday evening, September 12.

They were attacked with bottles and paint bombs.

Stolen property was recovered during the search and a 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with burglary.

Area Commander for Craigavon, Chief Inspector Anthony McNally said: “The local community have asked us to deal with burglary as a priority and this is the second time in a number of weeks that we have been attacked when doing just that.

“Despite the attempts by a small minority to deter us, we were able to recover stolen property and effect an arrest.

“We will continue to deliver this professional service to the community in Craigavon and tackle the issues that matter to them,” he said.
