Police seize suspected drugs in Craigavon

A QUANTITY of suspected drugs, including bags of white powder, along with items of drugs-related paraphernalia were recovered after police officers stopped a car in the Enniskeen area of Craigavon on Saturday (March 2) evening.

Police observed that the driver of the car, a man, had dilated pupils, slurred his speech and he was unsteady on his feet. A search of the car revealed a number of small bags of white powder, suspected steroids, needles, syringes and a set of digital scales.

The driver and two passengers, an 18-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B and C drugs and possession of Class B and C drugs with intent to supply. The 20-year-old man was further arrested for driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

The woman and 21-year-old man were released unconditionally while the 20-year-old male was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Sgt Alwyn Peters, of Brownlow Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We are committed to tackling the illegal use and sale of drugs in the local area and would ask for the continuing support of the community.
