Resurfacing in village

ROADS Service has been accused of doing the same job twice with the recent upgrade to the main road through Waringstown.

While the resurfacing work was welcomed by a local councillor, one resident felt the job was ‘overdone’.

The Waring Terrace resident said: “On Friday dinner time Roads Service came out to fill in the potholes. Six hours later they closed the road and ripped it up to resurface it.

“It looks well now, but they’re wasting money. They effectively did the job twice.”

UUP Councillor George Savage said: “I’ve been lobbying Roads Service to carry out these works for a number of years and I’m delighted they were able to find funding to carry out the work.

“With the ancillary works complete and the new top coat going on the road, I would like to thank Roads Service staff for an excellent job well done.”
