Simpson replaced on council

THE DUP has confirmed Mrs Gladys McCullough's co-option as David Simpson's replacement on Craigavon Borough Council.

The vacancy arose when Mr Simpson stepped down from the council following the recent General Election.

Councillor McCullough had previously served for twelve years on Craigavon Borough Council.

Welcoming her co-option DUP Group Leader on Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Stephen Moutray said: “We were very sorry to lose David Simpson from the DUP council group. He had made a tremendous contribution to the council. We are though truly delighted that Gladys has now been co-opted as his replacement.”

Speaking of her co-option Cllr McCullough said: “I am looking forward to the challenges ahead. Political representation should be all the time and not just at election time.”
