Tile Market is closed

ALL of Northern Ireland’s Tile Market outlets including its two premises in Lurgan appear to have closed.

Annesborough Road was the location of Tile Market’s head office while the company also had a store on the Portadown Road. It’s believed the chain closed all of its premises in Northern Ireland within the past two weeks with no official statement being made to customers.

No one was available for comment from Tile Market, nor was there anyone contactable at parent company Lomac Tiles.

In January 2009, with Tile Market’s sister company facing liquidation, employees in stores in the north were told their jobs were safe by managing director Jim McMullan.

The closures come as to blow to the 120 staff employed across Northern Ireland and also customers who had goods left over in the stores.
