Van robbed at gunpoint
A CASH-IN-TRANSIT van was robbed at gunpoint in Derrymacash last week.
Detectives are appealing for information following the robbery shortly after 1pm on Friday.
It was reported that a man carrying what appeared to be a handgun had approached the vehicle when it was making a delivery at Derrymacash Road.
A female member of delivery staff was forced to hand over a sum of cash in a cash box. There were no reports of any injuries.
Initial enquiries suggest that the thief used a VW Golf car to make his escape.
The man is described as five foot seven inches, of slight build, and wearing a dark hooded jumper. It is believed that at least one other male was involved.
The getaway car was found a short time later in a laneway off Kinnego Embankment Road.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in these areas should contact detectives by calling 0845 600 8000, alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
