Funeral arrangements for young Barry Rainey, who died suddenly on Sunday, have been announced.

Requiem Mass for Mr Rainey is to be held in St Anthony’s Church, Craigavon at 12pm on Friday.

Barry’s wake will be at his home at 137 Lurgan Tarry, Lurgan and the family has asked that anyone wishing to pay their respects this evening do so after 8pm.

Regarded as fun-loving with a big heart Barry was a very popular young man.

The 27-year-old man died suddenly at a party in Lurgan’s Flush Place on Sunday morning.

It is understood that a party had been held at the house on Saturday night.

A relative said the father-of-two was ‘very family orientated’.

With his partner Danielle Campbell, the couple had two little girls, Kyla, aged two and ten-month-old Kaycee.

His parents Sandra and John Rainey are orginally from the Kilwilkie and Princes St areas and Barry was brought up in Craigavon.

A former pupil at Lismore, Barry was described as ‘very funny’ and ‘very family orientated’.

“He thought the world of his mum and was very close to his late grandfather Patrick Fox,” said a close relative.

He is also survived by his sister and brother Shannon and Conor.

His passing is deeply regretted by his sorrowing father, mother, partner, daughters, brother, sister, grandmothers Ellie and Anne, aunts, uncles, cousins and entire family circle.

DUP Upper Bann MLA Carla Lockhart said residents in the area had been distressed when news of the death spread.

“It’s very sad news that a young life has been lost, and a family bereaved, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family,” she said.

“This is a settled area, and the neighbours were very alarmed.”
