After a female friend was seriously assaulted a 29 year old man went looking for the person responsible armed with a metal bar and wooden balustrade, Craigavon Court heard last Friday.
Deiridas Miskinis, King’s Park Mews, Lurgan, admitted possession of offensive weapons on July 14, 2011.
He was bound over in the sum of £250 to keep the peace for 12 months.
The court heard that the defendant had gone to police station and reported that he knew the whereabouts of a person responsible for the rape of a female.
Later he was stopped in a vehicle containing five people. He said he was going to get this person.
Police searched the vehicle and found the metal bar and the wooden balustrade which had lead wrapped around it.
Defendant said he was the driver and the only one before the court. He explained Miskinis was a Crown Court witness in a case where a female had been assaulted in a ‘horrendous manner’.
Deputy District Judge, Mr Gerry Trainor, refused to grant and application for forfeiture of the vehicle.
