Minor repair work to the weighbridge at Craigavon Borough Council’s Newline Household Recycling Centre is set to start today (Thursday).
The site will still be operating, however, for health and safety reasons access to the centre may be restricted.
Entry or exit to the site will be closed in stages and staff will be on hand to alter traffic flow, for example should the site entry be closed, staff will ensure traffic will be managed both in and out of the site on the exit side and vice versa.
Council staff will work alongside the contractor to do everything they can to keep disruption to a minimum and would ask users for their co-operation during the maintenance.
“We would ask visitors to the centre to observe the coned off areas and adhere to the directions of staff during the repair work. This will keep traffic flowing and help us to keep disruption to a minimum for all users and avoid lengthy queues particularly during peak times.
“Residents might also consider visiting the centre at off peak times” said Chair of Environmental Service Committee, Councillor Ronnie Harkness.
