Mystery of discarded suit is solved

A suit discarded on the shores of Lough Neagh sparking a police appeal was part of an ice bucket challenge, it has been revealed.

The PSNI had appealed for information when a suit of clothes was discovered at Columbkille Road, Portadown at around 11am on Monday close to the water’s edge by a member of the public.

The clothes included a grey Remus suit, grey shirt, grey and black tie and black boxer shorts.

Police issued an appeal to make sure no one was hurt or in danger and asked for anyone with information on the clothes to give them a call.

The PSNI said: “The mystery of the clothes at Lough Neagh has been solved. They were left there after an ice bucket challenge. Thank you for letting us know! We’re relieved that it was all part of a good cause.”
