Man critical after police car fall

The police ombudsman is investigating how a man fell from a moving police vehicle leaving him in a critical condition.

The incident took place at around 1.25pm on Friday in Maghera, Co Londonderry.

Police have said the man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

He is described as being in a critical condition.

The police service said the Ombudsman's office was informed of the incident.

Witnesses have been asked to come forward.
