AVENUE Road Estate residents have benefitted from the erection of a new bus shelter.
Craigavon Mayor Councillor Carla Lockhart said it was a “great win” for the community there.
She said: “I have lobbied long and hard for this to be located within the estate having been approached by the Avenue Road Residents Association and individuals from the area.
“This bus shelter provides people with much needed shelter whilst waiting on transport to their desired destination. I know that already the usage of it has been excellent with a large percentage of elderly folk having availed of it.
“It is a long overdue service to the area and I am delighted that Council are still in the business of delivering practical help to areas that need it. I would like to personally thank Council for their assistance and the Residents Group for their work in this regard also.
“People can now wait on the bus safe in the knowledge that they are protected from the elements.”
