Over 55s - find out your entitlements

ANYONE retiring soon or nearing retirement age can benefit from a special event for the over 55s.

It will take place in Oxford Island Discovery Centre on Thursday, January 24, from 11am until 2pm.

Included are talks and a workshop on lifelong learning, benefit entitlements, volunteering, health and well-being, complimentary therapies and more. Lunch is included.

Places are limited so booking is essential - contact Louise, Loughshore Access Project, on 3831 7898.

Transport can be provided if booked in advance. The building is wheelchair accessible.

Bookings are now being taken for the Loughshore Advice Clinics.

Citizens Advice Bureau, Warmer Homes and the Benefits Entitlement Unit will be available for one-to-one appointments on Monday, January 21, at the Loughshore Access Project, Emerson’s Stone Building, Kinnego.

Warmer Homes will also give a talk at St Mary’s School, Derrymore, on Monday, January 14, at 2.30pm.

A men’s health event at will be held at Milltown Church Hall on Saturday, January 26, from 11am until 3pm.

Free basic health checks, information and giveaways will be available on the day.
