Markethill Community Association has set up a petition calling for action to be taken to address the issue of parking at the entrance to Gosford Forest Park before someone is killed.

They said concerns have been raised by local people, families, drivers and visitors about cars being parked on the hard shoulder, and that the general feeling is that something needs to be done sooner rather than later.

Writing on an online petition page, they said, “It shouldn’t take someone to be seriously injured or killed before a solution is found.

“We are aware that this issue has been raised before with various organisations being involved in discussions.

“The results of this petition will be forwarded on to the PSNI, ABC Council, Forestry Service and Road Service who we feel all have a part to play in resolving the issue.”
