Councillors packing their bags for charity

CRAIGAVON councillors could soon be packing bags at a local supermarket.

With Asda having pledged to support the Mayor’s charity, Councillor Carla Lockhart in return has offered to put together a team of councillors to do a fundraising bag pack in the store.

Asda is set to open in November and will be supporting Tiny Life for the first six months of trading.

On Saturday, December 1 Councillor Lockhart has offered to pack bags in the store along with volunteers from Craigavon Council.

She said: “There’s 22 check outs to be covered all day so we need all the help we can get. I’m putting the challenge out to all members to get involved.”
