The renewed appeal for speed bumps came after a collision between two cars at the junction of the Gilpinstown Road and the Portadown Road.

In November a resident of Hillcrest said it was only a matter of time before someone loses a life after a child was knocked off their bike.

At the time a DRD Roads Service spokeswoman said: “The Gilpinstown Road has been assessed for traffic calming measures but returned a lower priority than other sites in the Craigavon Borough Council area.

“Roads Service will be happy to update the assessment as appropriate when details on collisions are received.”
