Resurfacing work at Derrymacash has been welcomed but calls have been made for more traffic calming measures at Wolfisland Terrace.
SDLP councillor Declan McAlinden said he was delighted at the resurfacing work.
He said he had been in constant contact with Road Service regarding roads in the rural areas and had spoken to residents who are also delighted.
He said: “Although delighted with this there is a lot more needing to be done especially on the main Derrymacash Road from Kinnego Embankment to Wolfidland Terrace where the state of the road and footpath is totally unacceptable.
“I have called for Traffic Calming measures here also as there is a large amount of heavy traffic.
“With vehicles and cars passing on this road daily at high speeds and with schools back and kids attending the local GAA club, there needs to be measures put in place before a serious accident occurs.”
