Services are back on at Shankill Parish following repairs at the church today (Saturday).
There was an early start for the contractors, engineers and vestrymen today in an attempt to get the spire repaired.
Working at 53 metres (174ft) up the contractors have been successful in removing the weather vane.
A spoeksman saidL “Thanks to the work of O’Boyles throughout today, we are happy to announce that the spire is secure, and that we can officially restart services, including our Christmas services, in the big Church!”
The church had been closed since last weekend due to health and safety concerns over the weather vane, it had also forced the cancellation of the Salvation Army’s Carols For the People.
