A MOIRA teenager has sang in front of thousands of people in London’s O2 Arena.

16-year-old Kian Zomorodian performed at the opening ceremony of the World Skills Competition on Tuesday (October 4).

The Lurgan College pupil was offered the opportunity through Music Theatre 4 Youth (MT4Uth) – an arts education charity for 11–25 year-olds.

Kian auditioned to join MT4Uth’s level 2 programme earlier this year, and out of the 700 who auditioned 50 were selected from all over Ireland, to take part in their production of Aladdin at the Waterfront Hall in August. He went on to play the main part of Aladdin.

He has been a member of Lisnagarvey Operatic Youth Society for eight years, and has recently finished their sell-out ‘Showstopper’ concert earlier this month.

Around 150,000 people are expected to attend the competition.
