The Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC) is calling on the citizens of Craigavon to once again showcase their civic pride and enter the 2015 Open + Direct Insurance ‘Best Kept’ Awards.
The ‘Best Kept’ Awards, which have been running for almost 60 years, aim to highlight and recognise outstanding community spirit as well as the dedication of individuals who volunteer their time to improve their environmental surroundings.
This year, the NIAC welcomed Open + Direct Insurance onboard as title sponsor of the prestigious ‘Best Kept’ Awards. The Awards focus on Northern Ireland’s best presented healthcare facilities, schools, housing areas, towns and villages, and judges each on remarkable cleanliness and the absence of litter and graffiti, floral displays and team participation from local volunteers.
Speaking at the launch of the 2015 competition, Doreen Muskett MBE, Chair of the NIAC, commented: “Each year community groups, schools and healthcare facilities from across Northern Ireland embark on the challenge of improving their local areas. Groups of volunteers and individuals show their civic pride by zealously working throughout the year to preserve their surroundings and create a sustainable, green environment.”
