When police spoke to a 28-year-old man at the scene of a one vehicle accident he admitted he was drunk.
Dean Reilly, whose address was given as Hobson Park, Portadown, pleaded guilty to two offences when he appeared last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
For driving with excess alcohol he was fined £120, ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and banned for 12 months.
He was fined £90 for driving without due care and attention.
The court heard that on December 17 this year at 2.15am police went to a one vehicle road traffic collision at Central Way in Craigavon.
Reilly, who was in the driving seat, told police: “I’m drunk.”
At the custody suite in Lurgan station an evidential breath test gave a reading of 76.
He had no previous convictions.
Reilly told the court it was ‘just a stupid mistake’.
If he completes the course for drink driving his ban would be reduced to nine months.
