LURGAN man Michael Foster is a newly qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) - the awarding body for professional qualifications in land, property, construction and environmentalissues.

Michael received his RICS diploma from president of the organisation, Alan
Collett.

Mr Collett made the presentation during a two- day visit to Northern Ireland.

While visiting he presented diplomas to recently qualified RICS members like Michael at a special ceremony.

The ceremony was held in The Academy at the University of Ulster Belfast Campus.

RICS has 110,000 members around the world, including in Asia, the Americas and Oceania.

Alan Collett was inaugurated as the 131st President of RICS on 2 July 2012.

An independent organisation, RICS acts in the public interest.

The organisation fulfills this by setting and regulating the highest standards of competence and integrity among its
members.

It also aims to provide impartial, as well as authoritative advice on key issues for business, society and governments worldwide.
