Warinstown Historical Society (WHS) has launched its 2014 programme this week and will be holding its first meeting of the new year tonight (Thursday).
The first meeting discusses ‘The Canals of Northern Ireland’ and will be held in Waringstown Cricket Club’s pavilion at The Lawn, starting at 7.30pm.
A copy of the programme and details of how to join the group can be obtained from www.waringstown.org. Membership for the year is £12.
The group has gone from strength to strength over the past year, showing that an interest in local history is alive and well in the village.
Established by Waringstown Community Development Association (WCDA), the WHS brings people together through a shared passion for local history.
A spokesperson for WCDA said: “We are delighted by the interest shown in this project by the local community.
“Come along and get involved, all are welcome,”
