The cheque was presented to Marie by Michelle Harte (Musical Director) and members, Florence Reynolds and Margaret Houston as the Society had chosen Motor Neurone Disease as their special charity for their Summer Concert. Funds raised will be used to purchase important equipment which can be used by members of our community who suffer from this condition.

Lurgan Town Hall was once again filled to capacity for Lurgan Musical Society’s summer concert, and the audience were treated to a wonderful varied programme of solos, duets and choruses taken from the world of the Musical as well as popular favourites and a toe-tapping Gospel selection. The Musical Society was once again accompanied by a wonderful orchestra who provided accompaniments arranged by Musical Director, Michelle Harte. Orchestra members were Colette Harte-Lavery, Sarah Mc Stay, Orla Rice, Justyna Czerny, Alice Mc Quade, Cormac Brophy and David Murphy. Mr Ron Moore provided wonderful rhythmic accompaniments on the drums.

Kathleen Headley and Rachel Gregson added a special sparkle to the evening as they danced the Can-Can from Calamity Jane.
