WINNING the toss was a good start to the day for Waringstown captain Simon Harrison.
“We decided to bowl first,” he said. “When we had them at 30 for four we really should have bowled them out for under 100. But their captain played well to help them reach 150.

“It was probably 50 too many but it was still managable although after 25 overs we looked dead and buried.

“Peter Hanna and Dave Cheater hauled us right back to the brink and CSNI were completely on the ropes until they got the run out.

“Pressure does funny things to people and once they got the run out it became pretty tense. In the end things didn’t turn out in our favour.”

And the final caught behind decision?

“We were sitting quite a bit away,” added Simon. “It sounded like bat and pad and not a nick but it was difficult for us to judge.”
