Saturday’s match was a sign for us of how stretched the team is when this amount of injuries and problems set in. After the positive results and performance we showed against Cliftonville with a full squad, this week injuries set in and it showed.

Some of the younger guys look like really good players for the future but at the minute the lack of available quality on the bench showed. Newry were able to keep players of the quality and experience of Chris Morgan and Kevin Keegan on the bench and we were forced to put out a bench full of kids with little experience between them. It was tough for them being thrown in and the result was no fault of theirs. Quality players for the future yes, but a few maybe still need more time before they’re Irish Premier League quality.

The sooner the injury crisis is over the better!

In truth, it was a poor match, I felt that neither team gave the performance that their managers should be happy with. Overall it was a poor game, played in poor conditions.
