FOLLOWING reports to the contrary, Glenavon's Director of Football, Alan Fraser has moved quickly to insist that injured striker, Trevor Molloy, has NOT gone AWOL.
After Saturday’s defeat to Newry City, Head Coach, Steven McBride was quoted on the club website as saying that Molloy had not been given permission to miss the match.

“Trevor Molloy felt his hamstring a bit at training on Thursday night but he said he should be alright,” McBride told the website.

“Other than that I haven’t heard from him. He’s supposed to turn up like anyone else who is injured so we’ll have to wait and see what happens next.”

However, Fraser was quick to offer a contrasting explanation and jump to the defence of the Dubliner.

“There’s been a misunderstanding,” he said.

“Basically Trevor had flu symptoms as well as his injury problems last Thursday night so we didn’t want to put him in a situation of travelling.

“We’re saying to the players that if they have flu symptoms we want them to stay away. That’s basically what happened and there are no issues about him not turning up.”
