The club, which has an active Child Protection Policy, is a member of Chujo Karate Association and has full Northern Ireland Karate Board support.

If you are thinking about getting involved in a new activity then try karate lessons. Karate helps build self confidence and is an excellent method of self defence. The regular training can help with weight loss. It is a great way to get fit and maintain fitness.

Joining Ballymena Leisure Centre Karate Club is an opportunity to meet new friends. Karate has many benefits for all ages. The oldest club member is 72 years old. The youngest member is 5 years old. 5 years is the minimum joining age. No maximum age.

ERNEST GOLDEN DATE

Club members have congratulated long term member Ernest Tuff and his wife Betty who last week celebrated 50 years of marriage. Ernest is a 2nd Dan Black Belt and he coaches children and adults.

CANCER RESEARCH DONATION

The CKA will present a cheque to the Cancer Research Society to the amount of 350.00.

The money was raised through holding a team competition at Coleraine Leisure Centre. Teams from Coleraine, Ballymoney and Rasharkin also took part.

Chief Coach Dan Redmond wishes to thank the competitors, spectators and parents for their generous support. He said this will now be an annual event to help support a deserving charity.
