Chujo members in training for big events
MEMBERS of Chujo Karate Association have started serious squad training.
They have set their sights on two events - he CKA Championships on Saturday, April 24, and then the Northern Ireland Karate Board Championships on Saturday, May 1.
Members from Ballymoney, Coleraine, Rasharkin and Ballymena are now in top preparation.
The Squad kumite/sparring sessions are being coached by Steven Surgeoner assisted by Fintan Neeson. Both men have represented Northern Ireland at International level over long and distinguished karate careers.
Chief Coach Sensei Dan Redmond has explained that the Squad will now benefit much from these experienced kumite Coaches.
Kata training will be coached by Dan Redmond. He has much experience in the arena.
He has also represented Northern Ireland at International level. Two years ago he was placed a creditable 4th in the prestigious UMA Championships in England.
His 4th place was notable because he was placed alongside two World Kata champions and a European Silver Medallist.
