Clanns are sevens' champions

CLANN Eireann Ladies won the Crossmaglen seven-a-side invitational tournament last Saturday.

Clanns found themselves in the toughest group having to face Emyvale, who are All-Ireland seven-a-side champions and also Na Fainna, Dublin county champions.

The Lurgan girls managed to win both games to finish top of the group and set up a quarter final clash againest St Bridget’s of Roscommon.

They then went through to the semi-final where they faced their Ulster rivals from Monaghan, Donaghmoyne, who are All-Ireland champions.

This was by far the toughest game of the day but the Clanns managed to win by seven points.

It was with great confidence they went on to win the final against hosts Crossmaglen. Clann Eireann ladies are also invited to Killeavy seven-a-side on March 20.
