King’s Parkwin after last ball drama

The popular event was sponsored by Roadside Motors, Dollingstown.

The teams competed against each other in a series of eight overs per side matches.

All of the schools taking part have been regular visitors to the tournament and have been receiving tuition from Club professional Niranjan Godbole over the past couple of months. There was some great talent on display during the day but most of all, the games were played in a great spirit and the players approached their matches with enthusiasm.

The closest game of the day saw King’s Park Primary School just edge out Maralin Village Primary School in a nail biting contest. It went right to the last ball but the win ensured that King’s Park finished the day unbeaten.

During the presentation all of the participants received a certificate from Norther Cricket Union President Billy Boyd. King’s Park captain Angus Cunningham then proudly received the Philip Wallace Memorial Trophy from Paul Greenfield of Roadside Motors.

King’s Park will now represent Lurgan Cricket Club at the Northern Ireland Finals which take place at Civil Service North Cricket Club.
