They will have to do it all again as rain puts dampner on big weekend at Lawn

Waringstown's big weekend turned into a non-event as the heavy rainfall put paid to any possible play in either Saturday's Twenty20 finals day or Sunday's Irish Senior Cup ¼ final.

After The NCU’s Emergency Committee met the following arrangements have been made for the Twenty20 semi-finals and final.

The semi-finalists can make their own arrangements to play their matches at the original venues ie Lisburn and Waringstown.

The competing clubs can make two attempts to play their semi-final but a result (including by bowl-out if necessary) must be reached by the second attempt.

The semi-finals must be concluded by Thursday, August 4.

The final will take place on Friday, August 12 at Waringstown commencing at 5.00pm. The reserve date is Sunday 21 August when the competition will be concluded by a bowl-out if necessary.

Following Sunday’s washout the Villager’s Irish Cup quarter final has been switched to their opponents ground North County under competition rules and will take place this Sunday, July 17.

Lee Nelson’s side have a triple header this weekend. Firstly they travel to Comber on Friday evening (5.00pm) to take on North Down in the Premier League. The game is a match three situation played over 20 overs.
