THE Ulster under 18 hockey team retained their Interprovincial title in style on Sunday when they defeated long standing rivals Leinster 3-0 in the deciding match.
Lurgan College had five players selected and all played a significant role in helping Ulster lift the trophy once again.
Jill Edgar was impressive against Connaught when she converted two ramped goals from two well worked penalty corners to contribute to the 8-0 victory in their opening match.
Chloe McCann scored from open play against Munster and Serena Barr was instrumental in the conversion of the first of three goals scored against Leinster.
Bethany Barr and Hannah Grieve also featured strongly and were rewarded with significant pitch time for all matches throughout the two day tournament.
Naomi Costley represented the College in the under 16 equivalent of this tournament, played alongside the under 18s.
With two goalkeepers selected for Ulster, both received two games each with Naomi featuring in nets against Connaught and Munster.
Naomi maintained a clean sheet for both games and had to watch from the sidelines as Leinster scored the only goal against Ulster in their final match to leave Ulster runners-up to their Dublin rivals.
